IFAB Updated the Rules by Including the Fourth Substitute Usage in Overtimes

New rules FIFA 2018

The fourth substitute FIFA

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has included the use of the fourth change in overtimes into the rules of the game, as the media-office of the organization reports. The above decision was made at the IFAB meeting chaired by the head of FIFA Gianni Infantino on 3 March.

One of the reasons for changing the rules was UEFA’s profound concerns about huge loads players experience due to the large number of matches for each season.
The use of the fourth change began to be employed in the test mode in 2016. That was tested during Youth and Junior championships in Europe, as well as in the European Women’s Championship.
According to Infantino, the proposition to use the innovation at the 2018 World Cup, which will be held in Russia, will be applied at a meeting of the FIFA Council on March 16.

To be honest, the more replacements, the more favourite players are to be seen on the field. And more fun from the game.
