That queue never ends!

The FIFA has apologised for the problems with delivering the tickets for the World Cup 2018 in Russia, which the fans encountered. Many of them complained that they had had to wait several hours to get tickets.

As the organisation’s representatives say, they were told that the problems were associated with a large number of people who wish to gain access to the ticket sales platform. And thanked them for their patience.

Actually, the troubles appeared after the second period of the second stage of ticket sales for the matches started. At this stage the tickets are to be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. You can buy them on the official website of FIFA . The second stage is to be finished by 3 April.

By the way, just to remind, the sale campaign for the World Cup 2018 is divided into three periods.

The first stage of the first period was held from 14 September to 12 October last year, and the tickets sale was arranged by random choosing of applications made on the FIFA website. The second stage of the first period took place from 16 to 28 November, and queue mechanism was applied. The second period began again with random choosing and lasted from 5 December 2017 to 31 January 2018. The final third period will be held from 18 April to 15 July. Tickets will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis .

The Federation noticed a very high demand for tickets for the event. As it turned out, at the final of the first stage of the second period of sales by random draw, according to the FIFA data, more than 4,900,000 applications were submitted. Almost half of the applications were made by Russians – 2,504,000. However, other countries seem also quite initiative. Among them the highest record was registered from Germany – 338,000 applications. Surprisingly, a great number of applications were submitted by fans from those countries that won’t participate it the World Cup. So, 87,000 applications were received from the USA, and 71,000 from Holland. It is worth noticing that the first stage of the first period started on 14 September last year, and it was unclear who is to take part in the forthcoming tournament. The activity of South American fans is very high. The largest quantity of applications came from Argentina (186,000), and the number of requests is more than 600,000 from around the whole continent.
